We’ve all seen photos of the bride’s wedding dress on a hanger but it’s usually a plain hanger from the bridal salon. You know the ones…heavy white plastic hangers or maybe a plain wooden hanger. Well I’ve found a few alternatives to add a little character to your wedding dress shot.
I Do hanger – $20 from Esty seller Aressa

Personalized hanger – $20 also from Esty seller Aressa

Custom wire hanger – $25 from Esty seller LilaFrances. Although Joan Crawford would reprimand us for hanging any clothing on a wire hanger I think Mommie Dearest would approve of this one.

PLEASE NOTE: We are a wedding planning company and do not sell these hangers. Please click on the links included in the post or do a search on Etsy.com for custom or personalized hangers.

I’m sure you’ve watched dozens of wedding shows where the brides changed into a second wedding dress for their reception. Most prefer shorter dresses so that they can dance the night away. Others still want the feel of a gown but without heavy beading or a long train so they opt for a less formal long white dress.
While surfing Nordstrom’s website I came across these gorgeous dresses that could be worn as a second wedding dress for your reception. Would you wear any of these?

Dress #1 $178 Stretched Satin dress with embellishment at the waist by JAX
Dress #2 $188 One shoulder dress by Adrianna Papell
Dress #3 $398 Strapless dress by BCBG
Dress #4 $178 One shoulder dress by Calvin Klein
Dress #5 $194 Metallic beaded dress by Laundry
Dress #6 $375 Beaded keyhole dress by Aidan Mattox

I found another Martina Liana wedding dress with a removable skirt that reveals a shorter dress. What do you think?

I recently watched an episode of My Fair Wedding. As always, David Tutera took his bride to try on wedding gowns. Although the bride didn’t choose this dress, I loved it! This gown, Fergie, is from David’s new wedding dress line with Faviana and is 2 dresses in one. The flared skirt is detachable leaving a short pleated sheath dress with flower detail along the hem.
How stunning!

Many brides want an elegant wedding gown for their ceremony but want to kick it up a notch for their reception. I’ve seen this Martina Liana wedding gown in a few bridal magazines and I am smitten. Not only is it two dresses in one but it also comes with a great lace jacket…technically making it 3 looks in one. Forget about a bustle! The detachable skirt, made of dupioni silk satin, can be removed to reveal this short lacy number. Imagine the looks on your guests’ faces when you enter the reception in this. More importantly, imagine the look on your groom’s face!

I recently received information from Mia Isse of
Garnish Boutique regarding their fall promotions. You may remember
my visit to Garnish Boutique last year. If you haven’t visited their dress boutique yet now is a perfect time. They are offering 10-15% discounts on Jenny Yoo and Coren Moore bridesmaids’ dresses for 2010 weddings if ordered this fall.
They are also having a sample sale on various 2009 designer collections which includes dresses ranging in price from $30-$100. How great would it be to snag one of those dresses for your upcoming engagement party or holiday party.
You can visit the Garnish Boutique at 5727 Falls Road in Baltimore, MD or call 410-464-0601 for more details and order deadlines.

Somes brides put a lot of thought and attention into finding the perfect wedding dress (which I completely understand of course) but forget to search for a cute dress to wear to their wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Your friends and family will be snapping tons of pictures throughout the night so why not have on a fabulous dress as you pose for your papparazi.
How about this one for $118 at Nordstrom

or this one for $168 at White House/Black Market (I know it isn’t all white but it’s still cute)
