The I Do Brunch

Weekend before last I attended the I Do Brunch hosted by Premiere Event Management. The brunch was a networking event specifically for wedding planners. There were about 80 attendees some of which came from as far as Indianapolis. The event was held at Historic Savage Mill Manor in Laurel, MD. I have never visited this venue so this was a perfect opportunity to do so. Below are a few photos I took at the brunch.

Registration table as you walked in:

We had a chose of beverages…the i-do mimosa, raspberry ice tea, etc.

Table decor (each table had a unique design):

Stationery (each table had table numbers and menu cards to coordinate with the table design):

Monday Marriage Quote

Real giving is when we give to our spouses what’s important to them, whether we understand it, like it, agree with it, or not.

Headed to Indianapolis

As a wedding planner in this ever evolving industry, it is paramount that we remain a student at heart. Therefore I try to attend at least one educational conference each year in addition to local networking events. Last year was The Special Event and this year is Eventology. Attendees are coming from TX, CA, FL, GA, AZ, TN, CO, MD and many other states so there will be a great mix of planners attending. It’s always nice to hear the trends and practices in other parts of the country.

I will have limited access to email and calls during the conference but will respond to all requests no later than Thursday (if not sooner).

Monday Marriage Quote

I’m sure we all remember the bed time stories our parents read to us. They all started with “Once upon a time…” and they all ended with the same line “…and they lived happily ever after”. Didn’t those books make you think that all the trials and issues were encountered earlier in the story so it would be easy to be happy in the end. Well today’s quote gives you a dose of reality.

All those “and they lived happily ever after” fairy tale endings need to be changed to “and they began the very hard work of making their marriages happy.”

Busy Weekend for AWE

This weekend will be a busy one for the AWE team. Saturday morning/afternoon I am attending the “I Do Brunch” networking event for wedding planners hosted by Premiere Event Management. It will be one of the few times during wedding season that I will be able sit back, relax and attend an event instead of working it. I’m looking forward to seeing old colleagues again and meeting new ones.

Saturday evening, the team and I are doing a 50th birthday party. I’m very excited about this party because the host is a friend of mine and is one of the sweetest people I know. We’ll be celebrating her living life like it’s golden. I can’t wait for her to see the ballroom before guest arrive.

Lastly, Sunday is the My Day Magazine Bridal Event at the Tremont Grand. I attended this event last year and it was amazing so I am looking forward to seeing what they have in store this year. Click here for tickets and more information. The AWE team is participating in the table top competition so stop by and vote for us.
