Today’s quote is said to be the secret of a good marriage. I’m inclined to agree.

Everyone who knows me knows that I love Grey’s Anatomy. Thursday nights at 9pm EST I am in front of the tv. I won’t even take phone calls during that time lol.
So at the end of last night’s episode Dr. Shepherd (AKA McDreamy) proposed to Dr. Grey. During his “proposal” Derrick told Meredith “I’m not going to get down on one knee and I’m not going to ask a question. All I’ll say is that I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” Her response? “I want to spend the rest of my life with you too.” I loved it…surprisingly. I say surprisingly because I’ve always been the traditional type when it came to the proposal. I thought the guy should be the one to propose. I also thought there should be a ring for the guy to present as he got down on bending knee.
I know that doesn’t work for everyone and I’m sure some of you might think that this tradition is a little antiquated. I’d love to hear your non-traditional proposal stories. Share yours by leaving a comment.

This quote has been around for awhile…I used it in my wedding programs. So you could say it’s an oldie but goodie but the sentiment still rings true.
You don’t marry someone you can live with, you marry the person who you cannot live without.”
~ author unknown
Here’s hoping you’re marrying the love of your life.

When deciding to marry someone, I think we all tend to focus on whether that person is the right person for us but the quote below takes it a step further. I found two versions of a quote so I thought I’d share both.
“Remember that a successful marriage depends on two things: (1) finding the right person and (2) being the right person.”
and
“Success in marriage does not come merely through finding the right mate, but through being the right mate.”
~ Barnett Brickner
I think I like the first one best.

I received the DVD of the October wedding of Stephanie & Bobby last week. Oh how I love re-living my couples’ wedding day. Since I’m working at the weddings I miss a lot of wonderful moments like seeing the bride as she walks down the aisle (I see the back of her), etc.
Lately, a lot of my couples have been forgoing cinematography for their wedding and opting for a photojournalistic photographer. While I understand the need for candid wedding shots, I still see where video can capture moments that still photos can’t…like hearing your spouse say their vows, etc. Just something to keep in mind as you budget your wedding day finances.
The Husband and I have a tradition of watching our wedding video each anniversary while sipping sparkling cider (he doesn’t drink) from our wedding champagne flutes. I always look forward to it.
