Running of the Brides

I’m sure most brides have heard of this event. Every year hundreds of brides-to-be line up at various Filene’s Basement locations with hopes of snagging a designer gown for hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars less than the retail price.

Good news MD/DC/VA brides! The Running of the Brides Event will be in our area this Friday, April 4th. Get your wedding gown crew of helpers together and head to the Filene’s Basement in Tysons Corner.

Another example of why it’s important to hire a wedding planner

I faithfully read the blog of Life Design Events based in Arizona. I couldn’t wait to share this story which will provide yet another reason why hiring an experienced wedding planner will help with mishaps that may occur on, or in this case before, your wedding day. Read the full story posted by Cicely here.

Wedding Journals

I came across a website called Table Topics and just had to share this. They sell a product called “My Wedding Journal” that has a different question at the top of each of the 100 pages in the spiral book. They include thought provoking questions like “What were the qualities that first attracted you to your partner?” and “What 3 pictures do you hope are captured perfectly on your wedding day?”. These types of questions may be the biggest stepping stone in planning your personalized wedding. These 2 questions alone might help you develop a theme or motif to use for your wedding as well as help with your must have/must take photo list. And there are 98 more questions left. What a great engagement party or bridal shower gift and best of all they’re only $10.

They also offer “My Life Journal” which could be useful when planning your upcoming wedding. This journal also includes thought provoking questions like “If you could appoint a board of directors to help run your life, who would you choose and why?”. This particular question might make it easy to decide the members of your bridal party. Other questions include “Where have you lived and what were your favorite things about each place?”. This is another question that might be helpful when trying to add personalized touches to your wedding.

Hope I’ve inspired you to take a look at your life and your soon-to-be spouse for wedding inspiration.

Happy Easter!

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Easter.

My husband and I are hosting dinner for 25-30 of our close family and friends. This is a tradition that was started by my mother back in the mid 80′s. We took over the dinner a few years back once she moved back to her home town.

Enjoy!

My Day Magazine Bridal Event

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of being a guest of My Day Magazine at their bridal event “The Wedding Experience” held at The Tremont Grand in Baltimore. Let me just say, this is a beautiful venue and the magazine really knows how to throw a great event. It was probably the best bridal event I’ve attended. The invitations, designed by Simply Noted, set the tone for the day. There were 4 floors and several rooms each decorated in a different theme and color scheme. Below are just a few pictures I was able to snap as I toured the venue but there was plenty more to see. Click on the photo to enlarge.

Work In Progress

I’ve gotten several requests for pictures of my new office. It is still a work in progress but without further ado…

Thanks to Select Events Rentals for the table and chairs used in the table disply area. The display will be updated later this week. I only had pink linen on the table as a mock-up for an existing client whose color scheme is pink and brown. Otherwise, that would be WAY too much pink in one room and I don’t want to scare off the grooms :-)
