Two Dresses…One Wedding

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, most celebrity brides usually wear a beautiful and most times full skirt wedding dress for their ceremony but opt to change into a sexier form fitting dress for their reception. None of my clients are celebrities (not yet anyway) so most can’t justify spending almost the same amount or more on a second dress after spending big bucks on the first one. The solution?? Check out these dresses from Target and White House/Black Market . You can get these dresses for under $250…$129.99 and $228 to be exact. WOW your guest with a wardrobe change after dinner right before cutting your cake. You’ll dance the night away while looking fabulous.

These dresses are also great for brides who are planning a destination wedding and just want something simple but perfect for a tropical climate.

Happy Birthday to me!

I have been blessed to see another year. Today is my birthday and yes I’m doing a little work…but just a little. I will have a small celebration with my husband this evening but I’m saving the big fun for the weekend. I have planned an afternoon tea party for Saturday. I’ve asked everyone to dress up and to wear their favorite hat. The funny thing is I’ve never worn a big hat so I had to go out and purchase one. That was fun all in itself. Anyone who knows me knows I love to shop :-)

I’m not sure what the plans are for Saturday evening. I’m sure my husband will think of something…he always does.

Great Wedding Toast/Quote

We recently had satelite tv installed so now I get to watch the WE network. I’m hooked on Platinum Weddings. I watched an episode Sunday afternoon where the best man gave a short but sweet toast that spoke volumes.

“May your marriage be traditional enough to last but modern enough to withstand the times”

The Crystal Wedding Tree

I’m sure many of you have seen this tree in wedding magazines, on wedding websites and wedding related tv shows. Well I stumbled across a website that gives a tutorial on how to make one of these fabulous trees. Just click the play button below to watch the 15 minute video. The Cristalier Crystals company not only shows you how to create it but also sells various sized crystals to adorn your DIY tree. And because their crystals come in a several colors you can coordinate them with your wedding color palette.

The Pleasure of Your Company – Open House

The Pleasure of Your Company is a stationery store located at 2360 West Joppa Rd in Lutherville, MD. They are known for carrying some of the most beautiful wedding invitations, card stock, place cards, etc. in the Baltimore area. They are always friendly and willing to help. Some working brides find it difficult the visit their store during the week since they usually close at 6pm. However on Wednesday, November 14th, they are having an open house and will extend their store hours until 8pm. During the open house you can take 20% off your favorite item.

I Love IKEA

Most people who know me know that I love shopping at IKEA. Brides should consider this place as a great resource during their wedding planning. They offer 100 count tealights for $2.99, 4 pack of tealight/votive candle holders for $1.29 and picture holders that can be used as table number holders for $1.99. They also offer a variety of candles in different shapes, sizes and colors. I frequent the White Marsh location but love the College Park store since it’s larger.
